There is a great shortage of data analysts profiles in the job market today, as the need for analysis and understanding of data is crucial across all sectors. For a few years, in the absence of specific training within higher education, companies have often turned to experienced candidates such as statisticians, CRM experts, BI analysts who have transitioned to data analysts. The new training programs developed within schools and universities have made it possible to supply the market with juniors (up to 3-4 years of experience), who are gradually gaining skills, mitigating the increase in sheer beginner candidates. However, the salaries of these positions increase very quickly after three years of experience since demand for such expertise is high. Seasoned data analysts, with a business vision and knowledge of the issues facing a particular sector are always in great demand. Salary is therefore not capped, with gaps that can be very significant for profiles who change positions (20% or even 30% in some cases).
